Dedicated to honoring the Black lives that were cut short from the injustices and racism surrounding the COVID-19 virus.

Who We Are and What We Do

The movement is a call for restorative justice in healthcare for vulnerable populations, with special emphasis on the black community. We aim to achieve this through community coalition building, education, and policy solutions.

This movement aims to put forth community informed resolutions that advance the creation of a system of healing that puts the black community at the center in order to achieve liberation.

Today we fight two fatal pandemics, covid19 and racism. This fight is big and will require a team. Therefore, Dr Chery has joined forces with Dr. Sabrina Gard and Dr. Jessica Isom to push forth this movement. We can not let this time pass without calling for real change in the health care system. We can no longer accept this system as it stands.

Our Core Values

01

Harnessing & Redistributing Power

Power needs to be redistributed from top to allow communities to dictate their needs for sustaining health and healing. Nothing for them without their voice, input, and accord.

Truth-Telling

We can only progress forward by owning the wrongdoings against black bodies by our current system of care. This is how we begin to establish the foundations of trust and trustworthiness between communities and institutions.

01

Liberation

As we seek equity for black patients within our system, we do this with liberation in mind. We must repeal the various forms of oppression and injustice to advance equity and address gaps in health disparities.

Accountability

Institutions are responsible for the structures that have caused both intended and unintended harm to the black community. We call for conscious action to hold systems accountable for establishing a level of trustworthiness and commitment to healing.

Alignment

Health care can no longer operate in a silo alone. We must create a system that is in alignment with the educational, political, and criminal justice systems in our country for sustainable change.

Community

Our mission and actions are community informed and driven to push the movement forward to attend to the needs of the black community. A shared commitment to improve the conditions of black bodies, communities, and futures.
